  • Chile's Sportsman of the Year in tennis for both 1995 and 1957, piling up a record of 66-4 and made the Pilots the best college tennis team in the Northwest during his career on The Bluff
  • Led the Pilots to a tenth-place finish nationally in 1961 and a 14-2 record in 1962
  • After graduation Omar returned to Chile, where he captained his country's 1965, 1966, and 1972 Davis Cup team and earned another Sportsman of the Year award in tennis in 1974
  • Continued at the top level, competing at Wimbledon and in the Australian, French, and U.S. Opens
  • A broadcast administrator for the Chilean government, Omar was accorded his country's Distinction of Honor in 1974
